Your First Dance, Done Properly
Choreography Built Around You
Tell us the song and your choreographer designs the whole dance to fit it — its tempo, its feeling and the moments worth marking with a spin or a pause. Want a sweeping ballroom waltz, or something that catches the room off guard? Every step is yours alone. Ideal for celebrations at Oxford Town Hall, a college quad or any venue across Oxfordshire.
No Experience Needed
Almost every couple we teach arrives having never danced together before. Coaching newcomers is precisely what our instructors do best, shaping routines that read beautifully yet feel easy on your feet. Each move is layered on gradually so your confidence grows lesson by lesson. Already booked into our dance classes in Oxford? You are a step ahead.
Lessons That Fit Your Diary
Private sessions slot in around your week — weeknight evenings, weekend mornings, whatever survives the wedding to-do list. Begin a couple of months ahead for the calmest run-up, or arrive with a fortnight to spare and we will still get you there. Sorting a hen party as well? The same team handles both.

Choose Your Dance Style
The first-dance styles couples ask for most — from classic ballroom to full-on spectacle. Your choreographer tailors any of them to your ability.
Traditional Waltz
The elegant ballroom waltz — graceful, timeless and the safest of safe bets for a first dance. It looks at home everywhere, from a college hall to a Cotswold manor.
Modern Romantic
Soft swaying and close, unhurried movement for couples after something warm and unforced. No party tricks — just the pair of you, clearly meaning every step.
Latin Fusion
Fiery Latin-flavoured routines that draw on rumba and bachata. Made for couples who want closeness, heat and a flash of theatre out on the floor.
Swing & Jive
Bouncy, high-spirited swing that radiates fun. The right pick if you want the whole room clapping along before the chorus has landed.
Dramatic Spotlight
Big-finish choreography with lifts, dips and proper wow moments. For couples set on a reception entrance nobody at the wedding will forget.
Song Transitions
Open with something tender, then flip into a track no one was expecting. A seamless multi-song mash-up that tells your story and earns the loudest cheer of the night.
From the Dance Floor
Oxfordshire couples on how their wedding dance came together.
"We had honestly never danced together and the first dance was the part we were both dreading. Our teacher chipped it down into tiny steps that actually stuck, and by the wedding we felt ready. Our guests in Witney are still raving about it — easily the best money we spent."Married near Witney
"With three weeks left we completely panicked and booked the last-minute intensive. We came out with a whole routine we could actually pull off, and they even cut our song down to length. Watching it back on the video, neither of us could believe it was us."Last-Minute Package
"The father-daughter dance was the thing I was most anxious about. Our instructor kept it understated and real — no daft spinning, just something that felt like us. By the end my daughter was in tears, I was in tears, and so was most of the marquee. Worth every penny."Father-Daughter Dance

Wedding Dance FAQ
The things couples usually want cleared up before they book wedding dance lessons in Oxford — experience, timing, song choice, nervous partners and where you will dance.
Neither of us can dance a step — are wedding dance lessons in Oxford still worth it?
Without question. Nearly everyone who walks through our door has never taken a lesson before, and that is exactly who we build routines for. Your choreographer keeps each move small and repeatable, so the finished dance looks far more accomplished than it ever feels to learn. By the end you will move with a confidence you did not know you had.
How far ahead of the wedding should we book our first dance lessons?
Eight to twelve weeks out is the sweet spot — enough time to learn at a gentle pace without it hanging over you. That said, plenty of couples come to us with only a fortnight left, and our intensive option can hand you a finished routine in a single afternoon if the date has crept up.
Do we have to dance to a particular song, or can we pick our own?
Bring whatever track means something to the two of you and the whole routine is built around it. Your choreographer works to its rhythm, mood and the little lifts and pauses in the music, and we can trim or remix it if it runs long. No song in mind yet? We will happily talk you through choices that dance well.
Can you choreograph father-daughter or mother-son dances too?
Of course — the couple's first dance is only part of what we do. Father-daughter moments, mother-son routines, bridal-party numbers and surprise group dances are all regular requests in our lessons. Every one of them follows the same booking and pricing as the first dance itself.
One of us is dreading it — how do you handle a really nervous partner?
It is the most normal thing in the world, and our instructors deal with it every week. We take the pace right down at the start, put the focus on feeling steady rather than perfect, and make sure both of you are comfortable before we add anything new. Most nervous partners are grinning by the second session.
Where do the wedding dance lessons in Oxford actually take place?
We run lessons at the central studio we hire at 40 George Street in Oxford (OX1 2AQ), moments from the Covered Market and Gloucester Green. Would you rather stay local? Plenty of couples learn nearer home instead — their own living room, a nearby church hall or a studio close by, anywhere across Oxford and Oxfordshire.
