About K-Pop Dance Classes in Oxford

K-Pop dance is the precise, camera-ready choreography that powers the world's biggest Korean idol groups, and our Oxford classes teach it exactly as it appears on screen. Across the weeks you will cover routines drawn from BTS, BLACKPINK, Stray Kids, NewJeans and TWICE, mastering the point moves, the killing parts and the sharp synchronised formations one clean eight-count at a time. It is one of the most popular styles around with students right now, and there is a real thrill in finally nailing a move you have only ever watched.

Oxford is full of K-Pop fans through its university societies and online dance-cover community, yet a steady weekly class teaching genuine idol choreography has been tricky to find. Ours are launching from a mirrored studio we hire in Oxford city centre, with the floor space that crisp formations need, drawing dancers in from Abingdon, Witney, Bicester and Banbury. The room runs on shared fandom energy, making every session feel part rehearsal, part celebration.

You will not need any prior training — if you can follow along to a video at home, you can follow this, except here a teacher fixes your lines and timing as you go. Turn up in comfy clothes and clean trainers and bring water, because these routines are a workout. Browse all 20 of our dance classes in Oxford, or rally your friends for a one-off hen party theme.

What You Get From K-Pop

The Exact Choreography

We teach the real idol routines move for move, not a loose tribute. Every point gesture, killing part and formation is copied straight from the original release so your cover looks the part.

Footage to Post

Each class wraps with a filmed group take, so you head home with a clip ready for socials. K-Pop thrives on dance covers, and you will have content worth uploading.

Fans In One Room

Dance shoulder to shoulder with fellow fans in a warm, hyped-up space. The shared love of the groups turns every session into something closer to a mini concert.

A Fresh Track Weekly

We swap the song each week, from punchy boy-group hits to slick girl-group routines, so your repertoire grows fast and no two classes ever feel the same.

Your K-Pop Dance Journey

From your first eight-count to filming polished covers — here is how it unfolds.

Week 1–4

Finding the Sharpness

Getting Started

Picking apart your first idol routines eight-count by eight-count. Drilling the snappy hits, clean angles and crisp lines that give K-Pop its signature edge, and learning how formations sit on the floor.

What to Bring

Comfy clothes you can move sharply in, clean trainers and a bottle of water — these routines are far more of a workout than they look online.

Month 2–3

Catching Choreo Faster

Developing Skills

Picking up routines more quickly and lifting them straight from demonstrations. Adding facial expression, attitude and stage presence so the moves read as performance rather than steps.

Growing Repertoire

By now you will have covered tracks from several groups and eras, and you start spotting the stylistic fingerprints of different companies and choreographers.

Month 4–6

Camera-Ready

Clean Execution

Sharp enough to film and post without a second thought. Your timing with the group tightens, the details land and your covers begin to mirror the original release.

Cover Projects

Optional group covers — learning full tracks with proper formation work and rehearsing for uploads or local K-Pop showcases and events.

Month 6+

Cover-Crew Ready

Toughest Routines

Taking on the most demanding choreography — high tempo, layered formations and lightning transitions — confident enough to perform at events, contests or online showcases.

What Comes Next

Start or join a cover crew, branch into commercial or street dance for broader range, or head to K-Pop dance events and conventions.

K-Pop Dance FAQ

A quick rundown of what newcomers ask before their first K-Pop routine.

Is K-Pop class doable for an absolute beginner? +

Absolutely. Our Oxford K-Pop sessions are built for fans first and dancers second, so total beginners are welcome every week. The teacher breaks each idol routine into bite-sized eight-counts and drills them slowly before bringing the track up to speed, so you never feel left behind.

Which idol groups will the choreography come from? +

We pull point choreography straight from the big names — BTS, BLACKPINK, Stray Kids, NewJeans, TWICE and more — and rotate the track each week. The killing parts and signature formations you have rewatched online are exactly what you will be learning on the floor.

What do I need to wear and bring along? +

Loose, breathable clothing you can move sharply in and supportive trainers with a clean sole. Bring water, because idol routines are far more cardio-heavy than they look on screen. Group merch is always welcome but never expected.

How much do K-Pop classes in Oxford come to? +

A one-off drop-in is £10 with nothing to sign and no joining fee. If you would rather lock in the term, a four-week block is £32, the equivalent of £8 per class. No contracts and no membership — simply turn up on the weeks that suit you.

Where does the K-Pop class meet in Oxford? +

Sessions run from a mirrored studio we hire in Oxford city centre, a short stroll from Gloucester Green. The room gives us the floor space needed for clean formations, and further venues across the city are in the pipeline.

How is K-Pop dance different from a street dance class? +

Street and hip-hop classes teach you a style and let you freestyle within it. K-Pop class teaches the precise, set choreography an idol group performs in a specific release — the synchronised formations, the point moves and the clean lines copied frame for frame from the original.

Will we get the chance to film our cover? +

Yes, and we build it into the lesson. Each session closes with a filmed run-through so you leave with a clip worth posting. Cover culture is a huge part of why K-Pop dance is so popular, and the teacher will help with spacing and camera angles.

Do I need to be a long-time K-Pop fan to take part? +

Not in the slightest. Plenty of dancers arrive simply because the choreography looks fun and the workout is brilliant. Knowing the groups adds to the buzz, but a love of sharp, energetic routines is the only thing you really need to bring.

What age range are the K-Pop classes aimed at? +

Our adult sessions run for ages 17 to 75, and the fandom genuinely spans every one of those years. The choreography suits a wide spread of fitness levels, and we may add younger age brackets once the weekly timetable is established.

Are private or group K-Pop sessions an option? +

They are — one-to-one tuition or private bookings for a group of friends can be arranged on request. They work well for nailing a particular release, a birthday cover or a project you want to film. Contact us to set one up.
