Wedding First Dance Lessons in Oxford
Some couples want to glide through a textbook waltz; others want to start slow and detonate into something nobody saw coming. Because the lessons are one-to-one, we choreograph entirely around you and your song rather than a template — and we can move as quickly or as gently as you like. A good few couples feel ready in just three or four sessions.
Before we set a single step we talk through the things that quietly make or break a first dance: how much floor your venue actually gives you, what your dress and shoes will let you do, and where your song's natural moments to spin, dip or pause fall. Lessons run at the central studio we hire, or somewhere handy for you — your front room, a local church hall or a studio near you — evenings and weekends included. And if you are sorting the hen do too, we will wrap both into one booking.

What does it cost, and do we pay per head?
There is one price for the whole booking, never a charge per person — £140 plus venue hire for an hour, or £165 plus venue for ninety minutes. It stays put whether ten of you turn up or twenty-five, so a late drop-out never leaves the rest of you covering the gap. Add a bottle of prosecco for £10 if you fancy a toast first.
How big can our group be, and is there a minimum?
Most hens book in groups of around eight to twenty, though we have happily run sessions for five and for thirty-plus. With a dozen or more, the ninety-minute class gives everyone a little more room to learn and breathe. Tell us your numbers when you enquire and we will match you to the right size of studio.
Does the bride take part, or just enjoy the show?
Entirely her call. The routine is built so she can be front and centre or hang back and let the bridesmaids carry it — some brides want the spotlight, others would rather film the chaos. Either way the whole session is designed around her, and we will happily make her the focus of a moment or two.
What actually happens during the class?
You warm up, then learn a full routine in small, repeatable pieces, building it up section by section until the whole thing flows, and finish with a run-through you can film. It is relaxed and good fun, and completely beginner-proof — the genuinely two-left-footed tend to surprise themselves most of all.
Is there anything we should wear or bring?
Comfy clothes you can move in and a pair of trainers are all you really need. Lots of groups dress to the theme — boas for Burlesque, Stetsons for Line Dancing, a slogan tee for the bride — which we love but never insist on. Bring some water, and flag your theme in advance so we can suggest any finishing touches.
Can you come to us rather than a studio?
Yes. If your accommodation has a clear room with a bit of floor, a choreographer will bring the class to you — an Airbnb in Jericho, a hotel by the station, a hall out in the villages, wherever you are based. We cover Oxford and the surrounding towns, so just let us know the postcode.
